Terms of use
How to read this site, in plain language.
Braeside, Victoria
This page sets out the rules for using the Secure Port Wealth website. Reading these terms is not the same as receiving advice. Using the site means you have agreed to them.
If a section is unclear, the email at the foot of the page reaches us directly.
Section 1 of 7
Who runs this site, and what it is for.
The website is published by Secure Port Pty Ltd, the entity that holds the Australian Financial Services Licence under which Secure Port Wealth operates.
The site is the public face of the firm. It explains what we do, how we work, and how to get in touch. It is published by Secure Port Pty Ltd, the holder of Australian Financial Services Licence 539360 and the entity behind the trading name Secure Port Wealth.
Throughout these terms, the words we, us, and our refer to Secure Port Pty Ltd. The words you and your refer to whoever is reading the site at the time.
The site is hosted in Australia and intended for use by Australian residents. The laws governing the site, and these terms, are the laws of Victoria, Australia. Reading from elsewhere is welcome, but the rules below apply regardless of where you are.
Nothing on the site is, or is intended to be, financial product advice or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any product. Personal advice happens in conversations and in formal documents that follow them. Reading a page on this site is not personal advice.
Section 2 of 7
Using the site means agreeing to these terms.
Reading on, browsing the pages, sending us a message. All count as agreement.
By using the site you agree to use it lawfully, not to interfere with it, and not to attempt to access parts of it that are not made public. You agree not to use the site to send unsolicited communications, to harvest personal information about other visitors, or to imitate the firm.
If you choose to send us an email or fill out the contact form, you agree that the information you send is accurate, that it is yours to send, and that we may use it for the purpose of responding to you. The handling of any information you send is described in our privacy policy.
Where the site offers a feature that depends on your browser allowing JavaScript, cookies, or modern fonts, parts of the page may not display correctly if those features are disabled. The terms still apply.
Section 3 of 7
Nothing here is advice for you.
Personal financial advice is what we do for clients, in formal engagements. The website is something else.
Every page on this site is published in general terms. It is written for a wide reader and does not take account of any individual reader's objectives, financial situation, or needs. Acting on something you read here without first having a conversation with us, or with another suitably qualified adviser, is not what the site is for.
Where we describe a strategy, an approach, an asset class, or an outcome, we describe it in general terms. The page is the start of a conversation, never the end of one. The detail belongs in a Statement of Advice or Record of Advice, prepared after we have understood your situation.
If you are reading something on this site and want to know whether it applies to your circumstances, write to us. That conversation is what the site exists to start.
Section 4 of 7
What is on the site, and what you may do with it.
The words and design on the site are ours. Quoting a line is fine. Copying a page is not.
All content on this site, including the words, the photography, the layout, the firm name, the harbour-arch logo, and the design system, is the property of Secure Port Pty Ltd or used under licence. We retain copyright in the original text and the original visual design.
You may:
- Read the site in any browser, on any device.
- Print or save individual pages for your own personal reference.
- Quote a short portion of a page in correspondence or research, with attribution to Secure Port Wealth.
You may not:
- Republish the site, or substantial parts of it, on another website or in another medium.
- Use the firm name or logo to imply an association, endorsement, or relationship that does not exist.
- Use any part of the site for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Strip out attribution, or pass any of the writing off as your own.
If you would like to quote at length, or use any of it in another context, write to us. The address is at the foot of this page.
Section 5 of 7
Links that lead elsewhere.
Sometimes a page links out, to a regulator, a research source, or a public dataset. We are not responsible for what happens after you leave.
The site occasionally links to external resources. Common destinations are the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, the Australian Taxation Office, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, and from time to time a research provider or a public dataset that supports something we are explaining.
Links are included when the destination is useful in context. We do not control those sites. We do not endorse the way they handle your information. We do not guarantee that any external link will continue to work, or that it will continue to point at the page it pointed at when we wrote it.
If a link is broken, or appears to lead somewhere unexpected, telling us is welcome and helpful.
Section 6 of 7
These terms may change over time.
When they do, the date at the top of the page changes with them.
We may revise these terms occasionally, to reflect a change in the law, a change in how the site works, or a change in the firm's structure. When we do, the Last updated date in the opener changes with them.
Continuing to use the site after a revision means accepting the revised terms. The previous version is no longer active. If a particular question about an earlier version matters to you, write to us and we will share the version that was current at the date in question.
We do not notify visitors of routine revisions. For material changes that affect how we collect or handle personal information, the change is described in the privacy policy and dated there.
Section 7 of 7
The laws of Victoria, Australia.
These terms, and any dispute about them, are governed by Victorian law and dealt with by Victorian courts.
For questions about these terms, the contact address is below. For questions about specific advice or how the firm works, the same address reaches us.
For matters that cannot be resolved between us, the complaints handling process is described in our Financial Services Guide, and the external scheme is the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.
